About Lachen Tourism

Lachen, located in North Sikkim, is at the foot of the Gurudongmar Lake and Chopta Valley at the height of 2,750 meters. Lachen hamlet, 27 kilometers from Chungthang, is encircled by a stunning mountain valley. Lachen, which means “great pass” in English, offers unparalleled vistas of the mountain ranges that appear to envelop the settlement in a sprawling embrace.

Lachen is among Sikkim’s most forested and undiscovered regions, and it will repay you with unparalleled mountain vistas, tranquility, and solitude. The community, which only has 200 homes, is perfect for travelers and explorers wishing to go to unusual places. The Lachenpas, a Sikkimese community, also reside in the area. Lachen should be at the top of your Sikkim itinerary since it is one of the most unusual spots in Lachung.

How to Reach Lachen

Reaching the Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) in Siliguri is the simplest method to begin this journey (West Bengal). Both have excellent connections to important cities all around India, and it acts as a crucial entry point to the northeast.
